Life is unpredictable, but having a good spirit and learn to laugh during the tough time is extremely important. Catherine and Junyoung’s wedding ceremony and reception were cancelled the day before their wedding due to the horrible Calgary flood. What do you do if you are the bride? Cry your eyes out? They had to re plan their entire wedding within 24 hours, looking for a church and bitterly accept that their fancy and well planed dinner reception at Divino Bistro is not going to happen. I would wish this never happen to anyone, however, everyone was affected by this downtown evacuation. I am pretty sure that having lunch reception in the church lobby was not Catherine’s first choice, but it was her only choice. Despite the wedding was simple, we were able to taste excellent and authentic Korean cuisine, and her photos turned out amazingly beautiful…you can’t even tell that they had almost no sleep the night before. I also have to give credit to their hard working bridal party who made sure the couple were stress free on their wedding day. We know Catherine and Junyoung are going to have a strong marriage, because they already won their first battle together!
I decided to take the group to shoot the downtown skyline, but Ken was worried that the crazy flooding scene (see on second last photo) may upset them, but I thought one day they will look back at the photos and realize this incident has made their wedding extra special and memorable for everyone and even their photographers! Congratulations Catherine and Junyoung!
